Images can be used as a means of identifying children when associated with personal information. Where possible do not include the name of a child whose image is being used, if naming a child or group of children in an image, only use their first names - this reduces the risk of inappropriate, unsolicited attention from people within and outside the sport. Avoid the inclusion of other detailed information about individual children that might help identification.

Sport Ireland and Sport NI do not state that coaches/volunteers can never transport a young person by themselves, however they recommend individuals and organisations recognise the risks and put in place appropriate measures to reduce these risks. There may be times when it is necessary to be alone with a child in a car, e.g. last child to be dropped off, parents not turned up to pick up the child, etc. In these cases you should inform parents of arrangements made, why and how long the journey will take. You should always attempt to have more than one child in the car, alternate drivers if possible and which child is dropped off last. Drivers should have a point of contact/mobile phone. Clubs should provide guidance to everyone associated with club about social media use. This could be as simple as adopting the National Governing Body’s guidance or the club could seek guidance from external organisations.
